You will report to the Director of PSFI and will oversee and guide junior staff and define, supervise and review the quality of their work outputs.
Your Role
As a Senior Investment Officer, you will: participate in the processing of ADB’s private sector financing of financial institutions projects and technical assistance to contribute to ADB’s goal of private sector and finance sector development and poverty reduction. The successful candidate will also be responsible for establishing new client relationships and maintaining existing ones within the context of business development.
You will:
Business Development
·Facilitate discussions with the potential private sector and state-owned financial institutions for business development and processing.
·Identify and screen projects for developmental aspects and commercial viability to contribute to the development of a pipeline for PSFI.
Project Processing
·Fully participate in the processing of projects to be considered for financing, undertaking the needed due diligence, risk analysis and mitigation work towards the structuring of loans, equity investments, guarantees or other forms of assistance.
·Lead credit and financial due diligence by developing financial models and in general assessing the risk and credit profile of proposed financial institutions projects in the form of debt, equity and guarantees, and reviewing project documents.
·Analyze financial statements and financial projections/models; perform sensitivity analysis and stress testing and make necessary recommendations.
·Participate in due diligence missions and provide technical support and recommendations to team leaders in negotiations with financial institutions to facilitate the financial closing of transactions and implement projects.
·Represent ADB in specific transactions with external technical advisors, consultants and lawyers.
·Lead relevant sector and country research, as needed, as a part of transaction risk assessment and make recommendations to the project team leader.
·Collaborate with the Office of Risk Management and the Safeguards Specialists to address credit-related and safeguard issues in respect of transactions under processing.
·Work with Treasury Department to facilitate local currency lending.
·Prepare project documentation and presentation materials and discuss issues in various meetings, including Investment Committee and Board meetings.

Others

·Liaise with governments to advocate and promote PSFI projects.
·Perform other tasks as assigned and reflected in the incumbent’s workplan.
You will need:
·Bachelor’s degree in management and finance, preferably with Master’s Degree in relevant fields and/or CFA Charter or preferred combined with additional relevant professional experience can be considered;
·At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in financial sector or in microfinance;
·Deal origination experience in debt and equity transactions in Asia;
·Proven ability to undertake research and analysis on difficult but well defined tasks, collect and organize required data and information, apply appropriate computer skills in organizing and analyzing the data; and prepare notes, papers and sections of reports;
·Good analytical thinking with ability to comprehend causal links, make pros and cons analysis, and analyze factors to reach a decision;
·Written and verbal proficiency in English and local language (as applicable);
·Minimum 5 years of experiences as a supervisor; and
