Overview of the functions of the post
Description of Responsibilities:
Under the overall authority of the Office Director and direct supervision of the Science Programme Specialist, the incumbent provides technical assistance, coordination and management of the CYDF Mercedes-Benz Star Fund Funds-in-Trust (MB FIT) project on Accelerating Carbon Neutrality: Innovative Actions For Sustainable Development:
1.Provide necessary programme support with respect to project implementation, monitoring & evaluation, budget control, reporting and update of relevant databases of the MB FIT project.
2.Assist in the preparation of contracts, prepare and monitor payments, oversee budget situation, communicate and follow up with project partners, supervise the work of interns, to ensure smooth implementation of project activities and related contracts.
3.Assist in organizing events, seminars, workshops and trainings and provide support as planned by the Unit and undertake missions as requested by supervisor.
4.Assist in preparing various kinds of reports, communications and correspondence such as periodic reports on the implementation of the programme, country briefings, UN reporting, meeting minutes, inputs to office publications and social medias, website update, speeches, presentations, memos, letters and other correspondence, and provide translation and interpretation (Chinese - English) when needed.
5.More in general, the incumbent will assist the Science Unit in the drafting of correspondence, preparation of presentations, speeches, web releases and other outreach and communication materials.
6.Assist in maintaining contacts with UNESCO National Commissions, the related ministries, UN agencies, development agencies, donors and NGOs in China.
7.The incumbent will contribute to research and activities, as requested by the Director and/or the Programme Specialist, including collection and systematization of gender- disaggregated results data, and execute any other task that may be required.
Required qualifications
EDUCATION
·University degree, secondary, technical and/or vocational training closely related to natural sciences mandate of UNESCO.
WORK EXPERIENCE
·A minimum of 2 years of relevant job experience.
·Experience in the area of project management, coordination and implementation.

Benefits include: 2.5 days of leave per month, up to 15% of the basic salary for medical insurance and pension plan.
